County Council – Cows – Prison Farms

Frontenac County Council wants dairy cattle to be included in the farming operations at Joyceville and Collins Bay institutions.

County Council passed a resolution this week requesting dairy cattle be included in the initial phase of this project.

Last month…correctional officials informed prison farm supporters when the farms re-open they will focus on crops and goats and will not involve dairy or beef cattle.

The resolution Frontenac County is sending to Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale and Kingston and the Islands MPP Mark Gerretsen says skilled workers are needed in all forms of dairy production.
