Taylor Swift is the latest performer to take on the NPR Tiny Desk series! In front of 300 people, Taylor performs stripped-down versions of her hits including, ‘The Man,’ ‘Lover,’ ‘Death by a Thousand Cuts’ and more!

Rocking a checkered two-piece suit and a burgundy velvet shirt, Taylor explained to her fans, “I just decided to take this as an opportunity to show you guys how the songs sounded when I first wrote them.”  Taylor also apologized for showing up to Washington, D.C. alone and later confessed the Tiny Desk series is ‘one of her favourite corners of the internet.”

Taylor also revealed, “Songwriting is really just a cathartic, therapeutic thing for me.  Songs are also a metaphor about accumulating emotional scars over years in the spotlight and how if someone is going to take your hand, they need to hold it scars and all.”

She then explained to her audience how she is also getting asked, “What will you ever do if you get happy? What will you write about?” Taylor says, “Then I happened to be writing this album Lover, which is a very, very happy, romantic album.  It’s still here! Yes!”
