Frontenac County Ferry Lawsuit

Frontenac County is facing a $2-million lawsuit over scheduling changes made to The Howe Island Ferry.

 

The lawsuit claims County council “illegally failed to consider public input” before deciding to allow farm vehicles to use the ferry during peak hours.

 

The change was made following a closed-door meeting in 2016.

 

Police Collision 

Police are investigating a collision involving one of their cruisers

 

The accident happened yesterday afternoon at the corner of Princess and Victoria

 

Three vehicles were involved – there were no serious injuries

 

It’s unsure what the cause of the accident is, at this point in time…

 

Food Vendors

The City of Kingston is looking for food vendors for various parks this summer. They are looking for healthy foods to be served from food carts and trucks.

 

They ask potential vendors to review the policy ahead of applying, and say priority will be given to local options.

 

McHappy Day / Almost Home

McHappy Day raised $10,000 for Almost Home at this year’s fundraiser.

 

Almost Home provides a place to stay for families with someone in the hospital, in Kingston.

 

It’s the first year they’ve received funding from the cause.
