Utilities Kingston Public Input 

Utilities Kingston is looking for your input before submitting Kingston Hydro’s electricity distribution plan to the Ontario Energy Board.

Customers are invited to a public meeting next Wednesday May 29th at the Seniors Centre on Francis Street.

The input will help determine the company’s priorities and rates beginning on January 1, 2021.

 

Threats – Probation 

A Kingston man who made threats at the St. Vincent de Paul Society on Valentine’s Day has been placed on probation for 18 months.

 

34-year-old Joshua Button plead guilty to two charges late last week.

 

Button had threatened attendees while holding a detached blade from a knife, between his fingers.

 

Bank threats – Probation

A 31-year-old Kingston man who made threats at a downtown TD Branch last fall has been granted probation.

Brandon Kenders plead guilty to making the threats last October, as well as mischief, possession of a knife for a dangerous purpose, and resisting arrest.

He was given 2 years probation with mandatory counselling.

 

Splash Pads now open

The City of Kingston splash pads have opened for the season.

The pads opened officially, over the weekend.

The pads are family friendly and accessible.
