Dry Dock – For Sale

Kingston’s historic dry-dock property is for sale.  It was bought from the federal government by Kingston Developer Jay Patry about three years ago.  He paid around $3 million for the prime piece of waterfront property that included the Marine Museum.

Patry was criticized for not making plans for the land that included the Marine Museum and it moved out of the building next to the dry dock.

A 20 storey high rise development had been proposed for the site but the property requires extensive work to remove contaminated soil.

Council – Priorities

Kingston city council is hosting an open house tonight to get input from the public on what its priorities should be over the next four years.  The session in Memorial Hall at Kingston City Hall runs from 6pm to 7:30 and will be followed by the regular meeting of city council.

You can also complete an online survey on the city’s website before council meets next month to set its priorities.

The newly formed Kingston Climate Hub is urging people to complete the city’s online survey on council’s priorities.

The group says it is an opportunity to help set council’s agenda for the next four years and it wants to make action on climate change council’s number one priority.
