Our ONE TO WATCH spotlight is on Ottawa brothers, LEMON CASH and their new single “Breakup Song”

Cory & Jeff Papineau have been performing together for years. When they were young kids they had their very own lemonade stand where they referred to the money they made as “Lemon Cash”…. and the rest is music history!

They grew up in a very musical family, and their little sister would often sing and help the brothers write songs. The children were raised by their mother, and to face the complicated relationship that the children had with their father, they turned to music. As children, they listened to George Strait, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, and more. The wisdom from songs helped give them strength to persevere. They also used music to make their mother happy- and in doing so, realized how much of an impact it can have on people.

Lemon Cash started out as a cover band in the alternative-rock space in Ottawa, Canada. The band had a lot of success, but after three years of playing as a five-piece band, the members decided to part ways. Cory and Jeff then found their sweet spot and transitioned into the country world where they would come to realize this is where their tastes and personalities fit best. The brothers songs include their signature blend of harmonies and a tinge of their love of rock music thrown into the lemonade of Lemon Cash.

Lemon Cash is busy writing, performing at shows, and in the studio with Dan Swinimer to continue its artistic development and turn those lemons into sweet lemonade.
