New Drug Threat

You can add another deadly drug threat for opioid addicts in Kingston.

KFL&A Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore, says Etizolam has been linked to three deaths in the region this year.  Moore told the public health board meeting yesterday it is commonly mixed with oxycodone and fentanyl.  He says it is similar to valium but 10 times more powerful.

And…Naloxone doesn’t work to reverse the effects of an overdose. Moor says if you come across someone who has overdosed you need to call 9-1-1.
