FOI – Questionable Spending

The Kingston Economic Development Corporation says questionable spending by the organization between 2010 and 2015 was acceptable during that time period…but things have drastically changed and that spending would not be allowed today.

The economic development agency says it has fulfilled a freedom of information request from the group Friends of Kingston and is giving the group the financial records covering the period between 2010 and 2015.

Mayor Bryan Paterson says he’s angry and appalled at the spending that included activity at bars, restaurants, officers messes, golf clubs and 22 visits to a bar inside the Plaza strip club expensed by former CEO Jeff Garrah. Garrah resigned after the group Friends of Kingston launched a campaign to review the financial records of the organization.
