Kingston Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle this morning.

A woman walking in the area of Nelson Street was struck.  Kingston Police say she suffered non-life threatening injuries.  Police were called to the scene at 5:20 this morning.

 

Halloween – YGK

 

It sounds like it was a relatively uneventful Halloween for Kingston Police.

Police say there were no major problems associated with Trick or Treating.  Kingston Police did get a dozen noise complaints from parties in various areas of the city.

 

Creep in Park

 

Kingston Police are looking for a man who approached girls in Shannon Park and told them to pull down their pants. Police say the man approached two young girls in the park off Wilson Street around 6:20pm on October 18th.  Both girls ran home and one of their fathers went to the park where he chased the man.  The man got away by hopping over a fence at Jean Worrell Crescent.

He is described as being in his late teens with long blond hair.  He was wearing a red hoodie and black pants.

 

Charges – Drug Raids

 

Four people are facing a total of 26 charges after search warrants were executed at residences in Picton, Belleville and Centre Hastings.  The search warrants were the results of a drug trafficking investigation.  Police seized approximately eight ounces of cocaine, methamphetamine and oxycodone pills along with two non-restricted firearms.  The four people who were arrested range in age from 29 to 54.

 

Kingston Mills – Rehab Project

 

Work to rehabilitate the historic stone at the Kingston Mills Locks will begin this month.

The project will be done while the locks are closed and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2021.  The work includes stone replacement and repair, repointing and grouting and repairs to concrete.

Parks Canada says careful consideration has gone into matching the limestone and grout to preserve the historic character of the locks built in the early 1800’s.

 

Stanley Cup – Kingston

 

The Stanley Cup is coming to Kingston later this month.

It will be on view for the 75th anniversary of the Original Hockey Hall of Fame at the Invista Centre on the afternoon of Friday, November 16th.

The hall and CFB Kingston are hosting a luncheon at Fort Frontenac with the Stanley Cup and three Kingston Stanley Cup Champions…Doug Gilmour, Ken Linseman and Rick Smith.

The luncheon will honour two Kingston hockey greats who died in the First World War…Scotty Davidson and George Richardson.  The Stanley Cup and Memorial Cup will also be at the Kingston Frontenacs game where former Kingston Canadians star Ken Linseman will be honoured.

He’ll sign autographs at the end of the first period.

Winter Weather

 

The Kingston area will escape the wrath of winter according to the Winter Weather forecast from Accuweather.

Accuweather says Atlantic Canada will get the worst of winter storms in the coming months.  The U-S based service says…while major winter storms will stay east of Kingston…you can expect some harsh cold snaps, especially during the second half of the season.
