Jays fans are getting excited for the upcoming season of the Toronto Blue Jays with opening day March 29th at Rogers Centre.

If you are planning on checking out some games this season, this is some pretty big news I heard about on bluejayhunter.com.

At the Rogers Centre YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!!!!

Seriously!!!

Just something you might want to keep in mind, especially if you have a huge family or specific dietary needs.

For a lot of parents this is a BIG deal because a family of four can spend a pretty penny on concessions so this may mean you can afford to splurge for better seats or another pint!

There are a few important rules you need to follow:

  1. You need a soft cooler that fits under your seat and food  items need to be wrapped, bagged or left inside a container to avoid spillage.
  2. Plastic bottles holding 600 ml or less will be permitted in Rogers Centre. This does not include liquor or beer. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited from entering Rogers Centre. Plastic bottles holding more than 600 ml and glass bottles are prohibited.
  3. I would also probably stick to plastic knives as all weapons are seized at the gate so a big bread knife or sharp pairing knife would likely be taken.

If you don’t want to get bogged down the prep of your own picnic fear not, Rogers Centre has some pretty cool offerings this year for food like cookie dough, gourmet nachos, and the Hogtown Stack!
