Third Crossing

One of Kingston’s most controversial projects is the subject of a special meeting of Kingston city council tomorrow night.

City council will be discussing whether to build the Third Crossing.

The estimated cost of the bridge over the Cataraqui River is $180 million dollars.

The city is counting on getting $120 million in funding from the provincial and federal governments.

Officials say the city’s cost of $60 million will not lead to an increase in property taxes.

The special meeting of city council starts at six tomorrow night in city council chambers.

Illumination Policy

A public meeting takes place tonight at city hall on the city’s new half million dollar lighting system.

The meeting is being held to get input to help shape what the city calls…a new Illumination Policy.

It wants suggestions on how and when to use the lighting system.

The meeting takes place in Memorial Hall at City Hall starting at six tonight.
