EARLY MORNING ACCIDENT CLOSES EASTBOUD 401

Expect delays if you’re heading Eastbound 401 today. The right lane and right shoulder are blocked After an early morning accident between a tractor trailer and another vehicle. At one point the eastbound lanes of the 401 were closed while crews battled a blaze after the transport rolled over. Two people suffered injuries. Crews aren’t saying when the highway will be completely re-opened.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING MAN WANTED FOR MURDER

The hunt for a man accused of attempted murder is still on for the Kingston Police Major Crimes Unit. It has been 20 days since Justin Hunter allegedly drove over a woman in the early morning of July 14, and investigators are now following numerous leads. There is a nationwide warrant for 33-year-old Hunter’s arrest after he allegedly struck a 22-year-old Kingston woman while driving a black 2015 Dodge ram truck. Investigators are asking the public for any further information, and to keep circulating his photo.

KINGSTON POLICE ASKING ASSISTANCE IN FINDING STOLEN WALLET SUSPECT

Kingston police are asking your assistance in identifying a suspect in the theft of a doctor’s wallet in July from Kingston General Hospital. On Wednesday, July 15 a male doctor’s wallet was stolen from a hospital office with various personal identification, debit and credit cards. Later that day a male suspect used the victim’s credit card to make purchases at the Esso gas station located at 1185 Division Street near Highway 401. Video surveillance images of the suspect were obtained by detectives. The male appears to be between 40-50 years of age, dark complexion, predominantly bald, wearing a white dress shirt, black tie, black pants and white running shoes. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.

RIDEAU HEIGHTS GETS WALK IN CLINIC

The Rideau Heights neighbourhood will soon have its first full-time walk-in clinic. As of Monday, Aug. 17, CDK Family Medicine Walk-in Clinic will be open to serve patients at 105 Sutherland Dr. in the north end of Kingston. This will be CDK Family Medicine’s second walk-in clinic. The first was opened downtown five years ago. All 10 of the doctors who currently work at the downtown location have agreed to cycle through the Rideau Heights site.
